- April & May: Provided the RetiVue Portable Widefield System prototype to Dr. Dan Alter’s nonprofit FOCUS for screening and treatment monitoring of Haitian infants.
2020
- September: RetiVue received $1,250,000 Phase IIb funding from the National Eye Institute/National Institutes of Health to further refine our handheld camera design and software, focusing on widening field of view.
2019
- RetiVue launches the RetiVue WF Desktop and RetiVue WF Portable camera at Vision Expo East.
- RetiVue granted first of several patents by the US Patent Office for its innovative widefield imaging technology.
2017
- RetiVue received $1,800,000 Direct to Phase II funding from the National Eye Institute/National Institutes of Health development of the RetiVue WF Desktop with a focus on creating a new approach for obtaining 7 field ETDRS equivalent widefield photos in a single image to provide earlier, more sensitive detection of diabetic retinopathy.
2015
- RetiVue received $1,500,000 Phase II funding from the National Eye Institute/National Institutes of Health development of the RetiVue WF Portable with a focus on creating a new approach for screening for healthy newborn infants and premature infants at risk of retinopathy of prematurity.
- The Virginia Center for Innovative Technology provided RetiVue, LLC with $50,000 to support additional hardware and software development for the RetiVue WF Portable camera.
2013
- RetiVue received $225,000 Phase I funding from the National Eye Institute/National Institutes of Health to develop our innovative concept for a handheld camera suitable for retinopathy of prematurity (ROP) and universal newborn eye screening.
2012
- RetiVue was awarded a $250,000 investment from the Virginia Center for Innovative Technology as part of the Commonwealth Research Commercialization Fund. This investment was used to pursue commercialization of our early handheld Cavcam non-mydriatic camera.
2011
- Dr. Paul Yates and his student Ken Tran won the University of Virginia Entrepreneurship Cup for their initial work on developing low cost fundus cameras, and use this award to provide the initial seed funding for RetiVue, LLC.
